The Pure 42 is the first model from PURE Yachts, designed in collaboration with H2 Yacht Design and built in aluminium for strength, longevity, and serious offshore use. This 42-foot yacht is tailored for sailors seeking a high-performance, durable, and semi-custom bluewater cruiser that can handle a wide range of conditions with ease.
Its design combines sleek aesthetics with a purposeful structure, capable of both fast passages and comfortable living aboard.
Semi-Custom Build with Bluewater DNA
The Pure 42 is based on a Berckemeyer hull, known for efficient, fast, and seaworthy designs. Unlike many production yachts, the Pure 42 offers a semi-custom approach, allowing owners to tailor aspects of the layout and interior to fit their needs. It is built in aluminium – a material chosen for its excellent strength-to-weight ratio and resistance to impact and fatigue.
With a focus on long-term durability and safety, the Pure 42 is constructed to CE Category A standards, making it capable of ocean voyages.
Interior layouts offer two or three cabins and various options for storage, technical space, and even a dedicated workshop or utility area. The design also considers the needs of liveaboard cruisers, including generous tank capacities, insulation for temperature control, and easy access to systems for maintenance.
Designed for Serious Sailing
The Pure 42 is not just about ruggedness—it’s also designed for performance. With a high sail area-to-displacement ratio and a powerful rig, it promises responsive, rewarding sailing. Twin rudders provide excellent control under heel, while the deep fin keel with a lead bulb ensures stability and upwind performance.
All control lines are led aft to the cockpit for safe, short-handed sailing. Optional equipment such as electric winches, a carbon mast, retractable bow thruster, and solar arrays can be added to suit the owner’s cruising plans. A fixed bowsprit allows for easy use of downwind sails like code zeros and gennakers, further enhancing versatility.
Comfortable and Modern Interior Living
Inside, the Pure 42 offers a clean, contemporary design that balances function and comfort. The saloon is bright and open, with large hull windows and overhead hatches providing natural light and ventilation. The galley is practical for cooking at sea, while the navigation station is well-appointed for offshore planning and electronics.
Materials and finishes are chosen for durability and ease of maintenance, and the yacht uses sustainable, eco-conscious materials where possible. Whether at anchor or underway, the layout ensures comfort, privacy, and efficiency.
